The “European Living Books Stories” Erasmus project was a life changing experience for me.
In the project we did a lot of different activities such as cultural nights where we all shared our different cultures and traditions through music, dance and food. Furthermore, during the days we did various group activities that led to creating and completing our human library. The group activities taught me to use multiple new digital tools as well as make new friends and learn to work in groups with various people. The project and the team were open and diverse. I felt safe and motivated to express myself.
The beautiful coastline and the amazing food are just a pinch of the whole experience. The eyelids of some participants fail to weigh over their eyes when they go to sleep, because they are left thinking about all topics we discuss.
The human library itself was an unforgettable experience for me. I “read” books from different topics that open my mind and way of thinking. I learned to listen and to not judge a book by its cover. It was emotional, informative, sad, funny, relieving and inspiring.
I would highly recommend this experience of a human library to my friends, family and community. So you should also try to apply in order to experience something unique, that will bring you happiness and knowledge about the cultures of participants.
